I didn't tell you about the adventure we had last weekend. We completed the cuts for our bridle joins for the raised bed we are working on. Then, we went out and bought blueberry bushes. We planted them in the lower meadow near our beehives. Or we started to. As we were digging the first hole, the hydraulics for the back hoe on our little tractor burst. And here is where the adventure starts.
Tractor parts are not as easy to come by as you would think, even at a store with Tractor Supply in its name. Even in my rural neck of the woods, if you are too close to the suburbs, you may find some parts, but they will not all fit together into a working solution. We suspect they keep a minimal inventory for appearances' sake. The Aberdeen store sent us to Bel Air. The Bel Air stor suggested such far away places as Mt. Airy, Frederick, even New Freedom PA. Ninety minutes and about $100 later, we had two 48" hydrolic hoses (we needed a 96") and enough couplings to have a proper mess.
Which led us inevitably to the internet. There, in the Elkton store online inventory, we found what we were looking for - all of what we were looking for. A short drive into nearby Cecil County and we had what we needed.
So, now we know a little more about our machinery. And we got our blueberries in.
